We’ve implemented a range of green programs to reduce our environmental impact and promote longterm stewardship:
- Energy Efficiency: All common property lighting has been upgraded to low-consumption LED fixtures
- Water Conservation: Gardens are mulched to retain moisture and reduce irrigation needs
- Waste Management:
- Recycling bins are available throughout the property
- Batteries are responsibly recycled via Bunnings
- Toner cartridges are recycled through certified programs
- Old furniture is repurposed or rehomed to reduce landfill waste
- Sustainable Amenities: Bathroom products are ethically sourced through The Vanity Group, supporting cruelty-free and environmentally conscious supply chains

Community & Cultural Support
at Water’s Edge Resort proudly sponsors local events including the Airlie Beach Festival of Music and the Great Barrier Reef Festival, contributing both cash sponsorship and in-kind support such as accommodation for performers and prize giveaways. These partnerships celebrate the vibrancy of our region while supporting local artists, businesses, and tourism operators.
We encourage guests to explore the Whitsundays responsibly through our partnership with Experience Oz, offering curated access to eco-certified tours, reef education programs, and Aboriginal cultural experiences. Guests can book directly via our branded Experience Oz portal, accessible through a QR code sent post-booking or with assistance from our front desk team.
